Define, Track and Adjust your Competitive Market with OPTIMIZE

Every market is different, which is why with OPTIMIZE, YOU define your competitive market and have full control over what competitors and units you want to track and report on.

What’s in a Market?�

A market is defined as the area around your store that you consider your local competitive area. With your store as the center point, your market can be defined as anywhere between a 1 to 10 mile radius, a zip/postal code or city. Factors like population, population density, geography and supply can be deciding factors on how you define you market. Once you’ve defined your market, only rates from competitors within this market will be shown in reports and market analysis throughout OPTIMIZE. You can adjust your market coverage at any time!

Tracking the True Competition

Not all competitors are created equal. Just like the size of your market varies from store to store, who you consider your true competition can vary, by size, value, location, etc.

Once you’ve defined your market, OPTIMIZE shows you a list of all stores within the area and allows you to select the stores whose rates you want to track. By default OPTIMIZE will include all stores in the market in reports throughout the application. If you wish to exclude any stores, simply uncheck the box under “Track” next to the store. This feature enables you to fully focus on competitor rate activity that you know has the most impact on your business.

Odd unit sizes? Special features? Tracking these is easy

To ensure you are tracking the units that are relevant to your store, OPTIMIZE offers a fully customizable dashboard.� By default, the Market Dashboard shows you rates for 17 unit types (the most common unit sizes in most markets). You have complete control over what unit types you see on here and in what order.�

Click the “X” on any of the units to remove them from the dashboard. Drag and drop the boxes to rearrange the order. Most importantly, click on the first box, “+ADD NEW” to add any units you don’t see here by default, whether that’s a 10×12, 5×5 Upper floor, or any size you wish to track!
